Lagos Market, operated by NextGen Limited, respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it when you buy, sell, or browse on the platform.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email, phone number, self-selected city, payout bank details, and photos you upload for listings — as well as information generated by your use of the platform, such as listings, orders, and messages. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. Our mobile app does not access your device's precise GPS location — location is limited to the city you select from a list.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to operate Lagos Market: creating and managing your account, processing orders and escrow payments, verifying your identity for payouts, sending order and account-related emails and push notifications (including OTP verification and password resets), and improving the platform.
3. Sharing your information
We share information with Paystack to process payments and payouts, with Sentry (a crash-reporting service) to help us diagnose technical issues in the mobile app, and with buyers/sellers as necessary to complete a transaction (for example, a buyer's delivery details are shared with the seller). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage and secure token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
5. Account sessions
Your login session is tied to a security token stored on your device. For your safety, sessions automatically expire after a period of inactivity and you may be signed out for security reasons — you'll need to log in again to continue.
6. Push notifications
If you use the Lagos Market mobile app and allow notifications, we store a device push token to send you order and account updates. You can turn notifications off at any time from your device settings.
7. Your rights
You can review and update your profile information at any time from your Profile page. You may request account deletion or data export by contacting support; we will process such requests in line with applicable Nigerian data protection law (NDPR).
8. Cookies & local storage
Lagos Market uses local storage in your browser (and secure on-device storage in the mobile app) to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your selected city. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
9. Children's privacy
Lagos Market is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date.
