How escrow protects you
When you check out, your payment is held by Lagos Market in escrow — not handed to the seller. The seller only gets paid once you confirm the item arrived as advertised. That means there's always a way to get your money back if something goes wrong before the sale is finalized.
48-hour inspection window
Once an item is delivered, you have 48 hours to inspect it and confirm it matches the listing. If it doesn't, raise a dispute from your Orders page before the window closes — your payment stays in escrow while our team reviews it, and we decide whether to refund you or release the funds to the seller.
How seller payouts work
The same escrow that protects buyers is what funds seller payouts. Once you confirm the item arrived as advertised — or the 48-hour inspection window passes without a dispute — we automatically transfer the seller's payout straight to their verified Nigerian bank account via Paystack.
Sellers can add or update their payout bank account any time from their Profile. Without a verified bank account, payouts are held until one is added.
